AHB programmes

In every region where Tb vectors are a problem, the AHB contracts an agency to manage its vector control programme. The aims of these programmes are to reduce vector numbers and/or to contain the spread of infected vector populations, in order to reduce the risk of livestock being infected by vectors.

These programmes have wide-ranging benefits and need your support.  If your property is affected by an AHB possum or ferret control operation, please co-operate with control and monitoring contractors.

As a farmer, you benefit from the protection of your herd from Tb. All rural landowners benefit too, because Tb control protects property values and New Zealand’s native biodiversity.
